 The Bright Artist named Gor

Gor Vassili Avetikyan was born on the 6th of July in 2000 in Yerevan. From 2006 to 2015 he studied in school 166 of Nor Nork after A. Mikoyan. At the same time, he attended the painting circle of Nor Nork’s the 5th district «Hayortats Tun». He as well as attended Yerevan’s «Tork Angegh» sports and cultural center as triathlete. Both in painting and sports Gor gained high rewards. In 2015 he entered the state college after Terlemezyan (the painting section). Gor, who estimated the variety of life, studied languages, chemistry, biology, anatomy, psychology, pedagogy, music, martial art and culinary arts. You could endlessly talk to him on these topics and get surprised from where he had got so much knowledge at such a young age. Gor already had made firm steps in painting sphere showing bright and effective palette, developing his own style in painting. He liked painting so selflessly as life.

On the 21st of January in 2019 he was called up for military service, leaving his studies unfinished. During the first 6 months he carried out his military service in Armavir’s number 60925 military unit as an APC mechanic-driver. Afterwards, he continued his military service in Artsakh Republic’s Defense army number 35383 military unit. Gor was a headmost and disciplined fighter; he did his military service with a sense of duty and diligently during the combat trainings, showing high records. He deserved much encouragement and many letters of thanks for the defense of his motherland.

In summer 2019 Gor continued his military service in Artsakh Republic, in Martuni-3 unit as a APC major mechanic-driver, again arresting attention for his high military progress. He was awarded with «Brave Fighter», «Excellent Soldier», «RA AF Best Soldier-Sportsman» badges.

Gor’s devoted and selfless love for his motherland is witnessed during the war. Because of the enemy’s cannonade the military unit was crumbled, Gor did not leave the territory taking his friend out of the window by risking his own life.

Gor’s devotedness of his motherland and friends made him leave the hospital beforehand. Where he was treated against the blood infection because of his wounds of the feet.

Only 5 days he missed the end of the war. He telephoned on the 2nd of November in the evening informing that they were advancing forward without knowing what would happen. On the 3rd of November, he fell in fighting as a hero hit by the enemy’s tank. Thus, he didn’t finish 100 days of his military service.

Posthumously, Gor was awarded with «For Service in Battle» and «For Courage» medals. Gor fell in action in Martuni-3 location and was buried in «Yerablur» pantheon.

Gor was joyous, very kind and very delicate. There was a bright vital strength in him will which he cheered the sad and encourage the winced. Gor liked people with impartial love and accepted them with their shortcomings. Gor was unique and you seldom meet such people and this image remains in the heart of a child and elderly people. Gor liked the colouring of life, the tune of life which remained unfinished. He was not afraid of living and was not afraid of life. He relished life diligently and enjoyed it.

He had one weapon – love and a medicinal remedy – compassion, which will be gained when you will be ready one day. Gor was ready for it. One day is not enough to recognize the art of Gor’s life. At present, he has inherited us that art.

If my hands are cut, I shall fight with my feet

If my feet are cut, I shall fight with my head

If my head is cut, I shall destroy them all with my soul~
